My husband's younger sister started wearing thick eyeglasses quiet early in her life. She started wearing it when she was in fifth grade. Wearing eyeglasses was a big hassle to her but she did not show it to her family. On the part of my husband, he liked seeing his sister in her glasses because it fitted her image perfectly. She was among the top students in her class, she was sharp and full of confidence. Her eyeglasses has become the symbol of her academic superiority. My husband did not know that she was giving so much effort to ignore the fact that she hated wearing glasses. She endured it through high school but when she was in college she made it known that she's willing to do whatever it takes to spare her self from the hassle of having to wear eyeglasses every day. She believed that her eyeglasses intimidated the boys. But her older brothers secretly thought that it was her academic prowess that intimidated the boys and prevented them from courting her. Her eyeglasses were just the exclamation mark of the of her prowess. Sometimes when you are pretty and intelligent things could be hard for you to come by.

My sister-in-law's days in college were during the mid-90's. We all know that during those times the technology was not yet good enough to address problems like astigmatism. The solutions suggested to her then was that she wear contact lenses. But her eyes were allergic to it. So she had to wear her eyeglasses through her college years.

Now good news is coming to her. Technology is at last making it possible for her to get rid of her eyeglasses. I need to let her know about the new LASIK information . I know that she would be very happy to know that Today’s modern LASIK combines 3D mapping and customized treatment for the 1st all-laser technology. The US Military & NASA have approved this combination on personnel including pilots and astronauts. It’s the pinnacle of LASIK technology.
