On Kindness

"Let us Do Good to All...."
Galatians 6:10

The director of a disaster relief agency told about a man who had a change of heart after the flood that devastated Grand Forks, North Dakota, in 1997. The man had been strongly opposed to the request of the church to build near his house, but he agreed after he saw the truckloads of food and other supplies sent by the Christians. He remarked that seeing what believers did with their money "outside" their church building changed his mind.

We should realize that if we are self-serving we will reap a harvest which passes away when we die. But if we devote ourselves to doing good, no matter how little our present resources, knowing that the Lord will provide and keep His promises to provide for us.

So, when God opens the opportunities for us to "do good to all", whether to fellow believers or not, lets do it cheerfully without asking for a return. Not only because the Lord rewards generosity but because it's the right thing to do.

The good we do is never lost,
Each kindly act
takes root,
And every bit of love we sow
In time will bear much fruit.

It takes only a moment to be kind,
But the result can last forever.

As I have written in my post today, do good to those who are our enemies too...if we love those who love us, it wont serve God's purpose... its a difficult task to love those whom we dont really like..but then, this is what God wants us to do... Challenging task..
by the way, my other blog is on Godly posts..
