Hollie Steel Breakdown

If Hollie Steel's breakdown was true then she shouldn't have been pushed that far. Probably her mother was too pushy and the child felt the pressure. But some people think that it was just an act designed to give her chance of winning a boost. I guess Greg Pritchard is more deserving, he should have been given the chance. Hollie could have her time in a year or two, she has talent but she's too young for the pressure in contests like this.

Oh sure...the tears were fake, it's all a ruse. OMG get a life. One of the bravest little kids I have ever seen.

Okay - I don't really watch the show, but after watching this clip --- I have no doubt that was a complete and total fake.

I've watched children of that age have breakdowns. That was not a breakdown. That was a complete act, given for sympathy. Wow...

At this moment, I'm unsure of who the winner actually was. I hope it was not this child. She's got a great voice, but this clip shows a very manipulative person who will use whatever means are available to sway an audience.

So not cool!!!

you know what people... she is only what? 10 years old... u try going up there with all those people watching u and do ur best.. its nerve racking... she was really brave to go up there and then later on again... the poor thing was really nervous and couldnt do it...

Mom was pushy?!? What do you base that comment on? Her mom went out and held her nervous child. Did she say or do one uncaring thing in front to the camera. Hollie was the one asking to start over and her mom supported her. She didn't do anything inappropriate.

And those tears werent fake either. She got nervouse and forgot a word. She immediately noticed it and was scared what to do about it, go on or start over. In the additions many people did start over. I bet no official from the competition told them no starting over. If they had Im sure that would already have been reported by some reporter. So the truth is it she stumbled. But was is not in question is that the second time around she did a magnificent job.

she was scared. she is only 10. performing at her school in front of friends even after months of prep would be hard for a little kid, a huge live performance like this must have been more than terrifying.

as a young performer playing my instrument I know, at that age stuff can happen. you are out of tune, you sneeze, any number of random things can happen. Performers with more experience are equipped to deal with these sorts of things, but Hollie is 10 and hasn't really performed publically enough to learn how to recover herself. And she is out there using her voice in a vulnerable range, standing up on stage by herself. She looked like she was panicing, and that kind of thing could happen to any child who is in a situation with that much pressure.

Have I ever had to start over in an audition? When I was younger yes, and I may not have done well but I learned from the event, and kept trying. I hate that people say if she was 40 they never would have let her go again. She is *not* an adult therefore don't judge her like one.

I hear all this stuff about fake tears and tantrums and what not and you know what everyone cries differently and I still feel it is uncalled for when grown adults accuse someone they don't even know, a *child* no less of some of the things people are saying about her. Shame on those who do not have a little more sympathy.

I doubt she'll win the final, and I am not sure if she should have been put through, but I do not begrudge her a chance to sing the whole song through correctly. She got scared. It happens. People should have more empathy. What is she was you at age ten? or your child? would you really go on the internet and hate then?

I know she's only ten, and all that jazz, but compare her to Callum Francis who was what, a year older? You can't get much more confident than that kid! I'm so glad she didn't win, yeah, great voice, but to be a star you have to have the whole package, and I don't think she did...

She is actually 12!!!! She is a LIAR!!! Look at the vid... did you see ANY TEARS????? NO! She FAKED it because she forgot the lyrics to the song and she Knew that if she had a 'break down' they would give her a second chance!! Even Dec had enough of that little girls fake-crying, thats why in the full video on youtube he says "Piss off now, your making me laugh"

Well she was 10-10!!!!!! Remember that Kaitlin Girl from America's got talent she never did that and she sing just as good if no better than Hollie. And she's 6 years younger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@chicken heart: No offence but you have a kid and you seem to have no sympathy for this little girl who clearly panic for whatever reason.

@everyone: And every child is different, it doesn't matter how old they are. Please be a bit nicer when you criticize young children. They need adult support no matter how well/not well they do something. Plus you didnt go through the pressure they had to, you wouldnt know!

Well I heard that she even lied about being 10 and she's actually 12.

I could name 5 million things that could have happend. Her mum did not push her i think that she wanted to go on that stage and show what britan had. Her mum came to surrport her and thats called care.So what if she lied about her age. It didnt really matter. I voted for hollie because i belived in her. I think that she will have an album when she is older. If she dousnt then i will jump down a cliff or somthing. I belive in hollie and i think she is a very little young polite girl. I love her!

There are tons of kids who were her age, or younger, and didn't have this so called breakdown that she had.
It's fake. She's a sneaky little girl. No doubt that she can sing, but it was an act. And you all keep on saying that she was brave, or it was a breakdown because of her age, crap. Because of her age, she shouldn't have been able to perform as well the second time around. There were NO tears. Maybe her face looked heartbreaking, but watch the tape again, no tears.
Don't let the age fool you, and if you want to mention the age, then she should not have been able to go back on stage so quickly

I feel sorry for the poor little girl! I'm glad her mum and Amanda Holden got up to comfort her, and Amanda brought her some water which was sweet. I'm sure it's very hard for the mum to see her daughter so upset, and Amanda probably was imagining her own daughter in the situation.
