Tokyo Earthquake





The capital city of Japan was shaken by a magnitude 6.9 earthquake today at 7:56 p.m. (10:56 GMT). The Tokyo earthquake did not result in great damage of in a ny deaths. According to Japan Meteorological Agency the center of the earthqukae was in Izu Islands, 192 miles south southwest of Tokyo. The agency also said that there is no need to worry about a tsunami because the earthquake won't cause it to happen.

There was a strong earthquake in Japan's capital Tokyo on Sunday. According to Associated Press news, there was no threat of a tsunami from the quake, which was centered at a depth of 188 miles (303 kilometers) in the Izu islands off the eastern coast of Japan, the U.S. Geological Survey said and USGS measured the quake at magnitude 7.1, while the Japan Meteorological Agency put it at 6.9.
