Obama Nobel Peace Prize

Obama Nobel Peace Prize
The Obama Nobel Peace Prize came as a big surprise to everyone, some were even shocked by it. Many are saying that it's too early to give Obama this kind of award, he hasn't even gone through the first year of his term. The Nobel Committee cited Obama's "initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim world and stress diplomacy and cooperation rather than unilateralism" as the bases for giving him the award.

Thorbjoern Jagland, chairman of the Nobel Committee said :

"Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future."
But former Polish President Lech Walesa, a 1983 Nobel Peace laureate, has this to say about the surprise win:
"So soon? Too early. He has no contribution so far. He is still at an early stage. He is only beginning to act."

"This is probably an encouragement for him to act. Let's see if he perseveres. Let's give him time to act."
