The 11-year-old girl who was missing for some days was finally found. Sarah Foxwell was found dead in early in the evening on Christmas day. Police say 11-year-old Sarah Foxwell's body was found at about 4:30 p.m. Christmas Day. A search team made up of law enforcement officers found her body near the Maryland-Delaware line.
Nearly 3,000 volunteers on the Eastern Shore spent Christmas desperately searching for the child.
According to the Wicomico County Sherrif, Thomas J. Leggs Jr., 30, is charged with burglary and with kidnapping. He is a family aquantance and had been arrested earlier this week.
Police say Leggs was seen entering the girl's bedroom late Wednesday night by Foxwell's 6-year-old sister. Police say Leggs is a registered sex offender.
Leggs has not commented on the case. Sheriff Mike Lewis also says deputies are now interviewing several other possible victims in the Leggs case. For now, he is NOT providing any details about those possible victims.
