Laura Ling | Laura Ling and Euna Lee Pardoned

This is one of the best news in months: Laura Ling and Euna Lee were pardoned by Kim Jong II and are now free and on their way home. The announcement of their pardon and release came after former president Bill Clinton came to North Korea yesterday and met with Kim Jong Il and other North Korean officials in Pyongyang on Tuesday to appeal for the release of the two journalists who were sentenced in June to 12 years in hard labor camp. Bill Clinton was probably the only person who could do it and he did it. He's one of the best presidents that USA has ever had (just my opinion).

Laura Ling and Euna Lee

This is a sad news not only to the families and friends of Laura Ling and Euna Lee, the two Current TV journalists arrested for "trespassing" in North Korea. The two were sentenced to 12 years in hard labor camp :( What's really bad is that the conviction could no longer be appealed because they were tried in North Korea's highest court.

I have read about them a few days ago and I could imagine the torment their families are feeling now. If indeed they really trespassed into North Korea, the sentence is too harsh.
