Foundation Day

Yesterday September 10 was Ferdinand Marcos birthday (former President of our country), also it marks the foundation day of our town named Polomolok, located near General Santos City.

We were waken by drums and rushing of feet from people outside because our house is near the heart of the town. And the parade starts near our place also near the street where the parade will be passing. My little boy was excited and rushed out of his bed to view the different bands of different schools.

You can see the people here had placed chairs to sit on so that they could see the long parade ...with my little boy looking on too c:

Minorettes of one of the first drum and Lyre bands. There are about 23 barangays here and so there would be more than 23 schools that would be passing in these streets.

One of the first float entries...with a B'laan dancing their traditional dance.

( to be continued...)
