For the first time after she was taken out of her 18-year captivity, kidnap survivor Jaycee Dugard issued a public statement. Her statement was released to People Magazine. "I'm so happy to be back with my family," she told the magazine. Dugard's photos as an adult, details of her reunion with the sister she hadn't seen since 1991, and her deepening bond with her mother can also be seen in Friday's issue of the magazine.
Jaycee Dugard was kidnapped by Philip Garrido and his wife in 1991 when she was only 11 years old. She was held in captivity for 18 years. In those 18 years she gave birth to two daughters, both were fathered by her kidnapper.
