The U.S. Geological Survey reported on Monday that a strong earthquake that measured 7.6 magnitude shook the Indian Ocean off India’s Andaman Islands causing a tsunami alert to be issued for India, Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand and Bangladesh. The earthquake occured 260 kilometers north of Port Blair in the Andaman Islands, India and 825 kilometers miles west of Bangkok, Thailand. It was 33 kilometers deep.
