Nissan seems to be signaling that it intends to join the green party. The automobile company has unveiled the Nissan Leaf which is an alt-fuel car. After the car's unveiling with the inauguration of Nissan's new global headquarters in Yokohama, Carlos Ghosn, Chief Executiveof Nissan, said that Nissan is "seeing electric cars not as a niche car but as a mass-market car." Is this a sign that Nissan is planning of going all the way with alt-fuel cars?
Nissan Leaf will become available for the Japanese and American market in the middle of 2010. The global roll out would probably start by 2012 with 200,000 units.
