Will Witherspoon the linebacker from the St. Louis Rams is acquired by Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles got him in exchange for for rookie wide receiver Brandon Gibson. What's under Witherspoons belt? Well, he got 36 tackles in six games (that's with the Rams season) and he has also played both weakside and middle linebacker. In 2002 the Panthers drafted him in the third round of the draft. Witherspoon weighs 239 pounds and has a record of 813 tackles, 8 interceptions, and 19 sacks throughout his entire career as of now. He joined the Rams as an unrestricted free agent in 2006. Before that he has played four seasons with Carolina.
Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo says:
"We were presented with a unique opportunity to improve our team. We greatly appreciate the efforts and contributions Will has made to the Rams, both on and off the field. We wish him continued success in Philadelphia."
