Do you remember the mom who drove her car the wrong way on the Taconic State Parkway last week and caused an accident that killed eight people? Well, after her autopsy, it is found out that she was very drunk during the time of the accident. Diane Schuler drove south into northbound traffic for 1.7 miles before crashing head-on into an SUV. Authorities said that she had 0.19 blood-alcohol content level and significant levels of THC, the chemical found in marijuana, in her system. A bottle of vodka was also found in her car.
The accident caused by Schuler's drunk driving killed her 2-year-old daughter, Erin; her three Floral Park nieces, Emma Hance, 8, Alyson Hance, 7, and Kate Hance, 5; and three Yonkers men in the SUV, Guy Bastardi, 49, and his father, Michael Bastardi, 81, and their friend, Daniel Longo, 74. The 5-year-old son of Schuler, Bryan, survived the accident.
