Production Team Clarifies "Credit Error" for Jisoo’s Drama Amid Family Controversy

In the wake of serious allegations involving the brother of BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, the production of her latest Netflix series, Boyfriend on Demand (also referred to as Monthly Boyfriend), has moved to clarify a brewing controversy regarding the show’s end credits.

The Spark: A Familiar Name in the Credits

The issue began when sharp-eyed viewers noticed the name of Jisoo’s older brother, Kim Jung-hoon, listed in the end credits of the drama. Specifically, he was credited as a representative for Jisoo’s personal management agency, BLISSOO.

This discovery fueled online speculation and backlash, as it appeared to contradict previous statements from Jisoo’s legal team claiming that her family members have no management or decision-making roles within her agency.

The Production Team’s Response

On April 21, 2026, the production company for Boyfriend on Demand issued an official statement to address the confusion. They characterized the inclusion of Kim Jung-hoon’s name as a "labeling error" made during the post-production phase.

"Immediately after the work's release in early March, we identified an error in the actor management credits due to a mistake by the production team and took prompt corrective measures," the company stated. They further explained that the credit has since been updated to simply read "BLISSOO Entertainment" to accurately reflect the management structure.

Jisoo’s Legal Stance: A Firm Line

The credit controversy is particularly sensitive because it coincides with a police investigation into Jisoo’s brother for alleged misconduct. Through her legal representatives at the Kim & Chang law firm, Jisoo has firmly distanced herself from the situation.

Her agency, BLISSOO, reiterated that:

  • No Professional Ties: While Jisoo’s brother provided "limited advice" during the initial establishment of the agency in late 2024, he has never received compensation nor participated in any managerial decisions.

  • Early Independence: Jisoo has lived apart from her family and has been financially independent since her trainee days, meaning she was not involved in or aware of her brother's private matters.

  • Proactive Measures: Reports suggest that when the credit error was first noticed in March, Jisoo personally requested the correction, with some sources claiming she even covered the costs associated with editing the master copy to ensure no further misunderstandings occurred.

Impact on Activities

The ongoing family-related headlines have already impacted Jisoo's schedule. On April 21, the idol announced the cancellation of a scheduled appearance in Paris, France, citing the need to manage the privacy and legal concerns surrounding her family.

As the legal investigation into her brother continues, Jisoo’s team remains focused on protecting the artist’s reputation and ensuring that her professional endeavors, including the success of Boyfriend on Demand, remain separate from the private controversies of her relatives.
