Swine Flu Level 6

Should we panic now that the WHO has declared that the international outbreak of swine flu has now reached level 6? What is meant by Level 6? Here is the explanation of Dr. Keiji Fukuda, acting WHO assistant director-general:

spread of the virus continues and activity has become established in at least two regions in the world. At present, 74 countries have officially reported 28,774 cases of influenza H1N1infection, including 144 deaths. Worldwide, the number of deaths is small. Each and every one of these deaths is tragic, and we have to brace ourselves to see more. However, we do not expect to see a sudden and dramatic jump in the number of severe or fatal infections.”

I guess Swine Flu Level 6 should not cause us to panic because panicking is not a good thing, it would not solve problems. All we can do is stay calm and just do all the things that could help us avoid being contaminated by the virus.

Yes, we should not really panic; but instead take more precautions.

It's certainly concerning I'm glad I don't have to fly for awhile I hate breathing that airplane air and currently the safety of the planes are even a problem.

No need to panic, but we need to take extra precaution specially for those who have small kids. Their immune system is not yet able to ward off virus strains. The good thing is that they are already creating a swine flu vaccine.
