Chely Wright is set to announce she is lesbian. Yes, Wright is set to make the announcement in the next issue of People magazine according to TMZ. This is something that the country music folks are not really used to. The 39-year-old Wright (who was the Academy of Country Music's Top New Female Vocalist in 1999) will be the first female country musician to "come out" into the open as a lesbian.



Wright has released seven albums and she had a number one hit in 1999 "Single White Female. Her announcement could shock some fans but that's how it is.
