Despite the success of "Reborn Rich," Song Joong Ki is not nominated for the 2023 Baeksang Awards

The nominations for the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards, considered one of Korea's most prestigious award ceremonies, were recently announced on Baeksang's official website and social media accounts. However, the list of nominees has received mixed reactions. One notable category, Best Actor Award (TV), includes nominees such as Son Seok Gu for "My Liberation Notes," Lee Byung Hun for "Our Blues," Lee Sung Min for "Reborn Rich," Jung Kyung Ho for "Crash Course in Romance," and Choi Min Sik for "Big Bet."

Despite the tremendous success of "Reborn Rich," with viewership ratings as high as 26.9%, its lead actor, Song Joong Ki, did not receive a nomination. Many fans were surprised and disappointed, feeling that Song Joong Ki's performance deserved recognition. However, some netizens argue that "Reborn Rich" features two main characters, and Lee Sung Min, the other lead actor, delivered a better performance, making his nomination understandable.

[The Glory] This is why Ha Do Young did not divorce park Yeon Jin immediately after dicovering her crimes

Netflix Korea released a commentary video on March 26th for "The Glory" Part 2 on its official YouTube channel. The video featured actors Jung Sung Il, Kim Hieora, Cha Joo Young, Kim Gun Woo, Park Sung Hoon, writer Kim Eun Sook, and director Ahn Gil Ho. During the commentary, Kim Eun Sook delved into the complicated feelings of Ha Do Young (played by Jung Sung Il), a character that has elicited mixed reactions from viewers.

Viewers have been debating the reasons why Ha Do Young didn't immediately leave Park Yeon Jin (played by Lim Ji Yeon). When Kim Eun Sook was asked about Ha Do Young's feelings for Moon Dong Eun (played by Song Hye Kyo), she explained that his line "I hate to say I don't know, but I don't know yet. I just realized that I'll never leave her. So let's meet again" conveyed his emotions well. This meant that Ha Do Young understood that he was only of use to Dong Eun if he remained Yeon Jin's husband, and if he left her, he would have no reason to see Dong Eun again. He wanted to continue seeing Dong Eun, so he didn't leave Yeon Jin. Although he was unsure of his feelings towards Dong Eun at first, he realized he loved her while having triangle gimbap.
