If you do just read the story of Zachary Christie, the six year old boy who got a 45-day suspension from school and a recommendation for a stint in a reform school for juvenile delinquents just because he brought to school his Cub Scout utensil that has a spoon, fork, and maybe a sharp cutting edge. His school has a zero tolerance policy. Now, are you mad? Do you think that zero tolerance can be used interchangeably with zero intelligence? The kid's parents has started a site to petition for the reversal of his punishment. They need support and the best supprot you can give is by signing the petition. This is crazy!!! My name is Matt and i am a Eagle Scout. Tell him to ignore what they say and tell him to go all the way to Eagle Scout. i would pull him out of this school.
Yes,the kid should not be suspended that long. A counselor should attend to the child.
I think the policy for no weapons at school is wonderful,but each case should be looked at according the child.I don't think this child intended this item as a weapon,He plainly said that he took it to school to eat with.He should never go to a reform school,it might affect him in a bad way for the rest of his life.
A caring grandmother
Eleven years ago my son, then in third grade, like Zachary,(a cub scout who liked to explore nature), and was proud of his camp utencils decided to take his aluminum fork to school to eat with. this landed him with a two day out of school suspension. The school claimed he had a weapon. I call all of this rubbish. What ever happened to warnings. My son was devestated. These liberals making these kind of laws on such young children need to be shoved in a nursing home, where they will be safe from all these children.
I watched Zachary and Mom on the morning show and then watched it again on internet. Zachary appears to be a very smart, sweet and innocent boy. The school should get real!!! This is ridiculous!!

Not only that but they're trying to enforce the liberals "get back in line and do as your told" culture that would make even the most extreme of disciplinarians of the 1950s proud.
Liberals are trying to condition children to be nothing more than unthinking slaves through punishment and control. Between this, songs appraising Obama and planting "politically correct" opinions in the minds of the impressionable they're striving to turn this nation to a new slavery of thought.
The positive aspect is that they're breeding a new, massive generation of conservatives that'll end up spelling the end to all this behavior.
